(1) Cook Resource Mining Pty Ltd 1999
Cook Colliery employed Lee on a consultancy basis to establish a competency
based training package covering a wide range of skills and competencies.
Once established, on-site training of employees to both Category One and
Two Workplace Trainer - Assessor skills for a minimum of 50% of the workplace
was completed and successful.
Both the Hazard management Plan training and the SPEAR skills training
packages are, I believe, the best in the industry in Queensland, and have
been recognised externally in the Queensland Training Awards.
As a practical trainer, Lee has been well accepted by all those trained
by her, and the results of this training has also been exceptional.
I am pleased to note that all key performance indicators for the mine,
notably Lost Time Accidents (running at zero for the last ten months),
minor injuries, production output per man employed and cost per tonne
have all improved by a substantial factor. A significant amount of credit
must go to the Safety/Training Management area, including the work done
by Lee for Cook Colliery.
